Our story begins in mid-July 1995, when two cousins ​​decide to start a band to play Rock and Roll classics. Putting into practice everything we have enjoyed since childhood.

In a small room at the back of a house in Santo André, the first chords of what would become our band were given. With boxes of eggs and lots of polystyrene and shoemaker's glue, we built our first studio there for rehearsals.

The name EPAMINONDAS
At the same time that we made our sound, we also we produced some horror films. With a vhs camera , crazy things in the head and a lot of creativity, we had our backyard Hollywood there. Recalling that it was the middle of 1995, and not even imagined a youtube, We made these films to just be laughing ourselves, and force the whole family watch those kkkkk productions. In one of these films when choosing the main character, the name EPAMINONDAS was mentioned, of course that was hilarious, because it was a horror movie !!!!!! So, we named the film "The Death of Epaminondas". Later, when we went to make our first presentation, we needed a name for the band. It was a music festival ... we had several ideas, but at the time of registration for that festival, the name Epaminondas came to mind. I remember telling you "later we'll change" kkkk.

The Kombi
With the beginning of shows in bars, events, meeting of motorcyclists ... we saw the need to have better quality equipment, remembering that in the 90s and 2000s, people left the house a lot and the audience was large.

One of the members decided to buy an old van to transport the equipment. Except that no one had a garage to store it, so it would stay out in the open. Afraid of losing our transportation, we decided to make a personalized "psychedelic" painting. Then the owner left the vehicle in charge of another member to do the painting.
The Kombi art is an unfinished work, because when the owner saw the result, it was very P ..., he thought he would paint only the name, he argued saying - "the police will stop us every day" kkkk. We were never stopped, Kombosa took us everywhere. It became our brand, a lot of people knew us because of it.

As Cazuza used to say "time doesn't stop" and there were more than 20 years of having a lot of parties, cachaça, fights and love. Unfortunately our lives were taking different paths and having a band ended up not being the priority in everyone's life. It became increasingly difficult to book a show, rehearsals, recordings ... And with that, the Band made its last presentation on July 22, 2017, at the Paranapiacaba Winter Festival, with only two members of the classical line-up. It was a last breath.
Only left, our social networks with many friends and 3 records recorded. But such a cool story could not die or remain in memory. That was how in December 2017 the first broadcast of Radio Epaminondas came on the air ... In 2018 we did something unprecedented, A live broadcast of the shows of the winter festival of Paranapiacaba, despite the technical difficulties (Paranapiacaba is in an isolated place in the middle of the Serra do Mar), but it was fantastic.
Also unprecedented was the creation of the first Radio program about Raul Seixas, A Hora do Raul. Live program that airs on Sundays 7:30 pm, fully interactive, formulated entirely by listeners. And she counts as poster girl Scarlett Seixas (daughter of Own).
